Editor Amanda Lynn sat down with Lisa to talk about gritty training, and how She Fit became a brand. 

ALM: The latest thing that crossed my screen was a turquoise banner with Body Sculpt written on it, can you talk about this new campaign? 

LF: The Body Sculpt and Cardio Abs classes are my 2 top popular fitness classes in the area for ladies ages 12+. The classes are designed to transform your physique and shape/tone up while achieving weight loss and gaining lean muscle.  The classes are upbeat with motivational music, new equipment, new studio space. Both sessions are easy to follow, alternations to exercises are provided along with proper form and tempo for exercises are taught. Women lose inches and gain strength without bulking. Proper Nutrition is advised during the sessions.

ALM: I know my first question should have been, where did this all come from however, I like to do things different. So, where did the Brand Lisa Forman evolve from? 
LF: I branded Lisa Forman / She Fit in the late fall of 2013. I had a demand for women with fitness classes and proper nutrition. Through years of coaching and competing as a Canadian National Level Gold Figure Athlete, bodybuilding and gaining education from Poliquin Performance Centre, I had set out to brand my Weight loss programs and market what I knew worked.  Proper Nutrition, + Proper supplementation + Proper training for each individual. Customizing plans was what I set out to do. Between weight loss clients, performance athletes, average full-time office employees looking for a proper nutrition plan to follow to achieve weight loss day in and day out - I have a very wide cliental and results are noticeable with each individual. 
 
ALM: What is 'gritty training'?
LF: Gritty Training - my definition…. Using my passion for long term goals.  Gritty Training is focused on winning and pursuing what you set out to do.  Having courage and determination to design the road map to your goal and reaching the finish line each time. I achieve this with all of my fitness goals and Gritty Training has been a focus of mine for over 3 1/2 years. The style of the gym and equipment you use has NOTHING to do with Gritty Training as far as I see it. 
 
ALM: Seriously, how much can you lift?
LF: Depends on how well I slept the night before and what i foods I fueled my workouts with. I have a few 1 rep max exercises. But my focus is completing the sets and reps on my programs.  How much can i lift….. about 45 mins - 1 hr is how much i can lift. 
 
ALM: Do you find it completely fulfilling by training others? That is my favorite part as a coach, is educating others and seeing that smile. 
LF: Fulfillment comes when my clients smile and reach a level they NEVER thought they could.   Getting someone into a few smaller pant sizes is fulfilling knowing my clients are happy and are in a better place mentally, physically and spiritually. 
My job here is to be a motivator.  I motivate and encourage a variety of clientele daily from classes, training, social media, neighbours, friends, family etc……. As long as I'm doing my job each day on earth - being a motivator.
 
 
ALM: What are your outside hobbies, do you attend barn dances, knit, or build snowmen on the side?
LF: My outside hobbies consist of Art and outdoor water activities. I do a fair bit of Graphic Designing, Painting, Drawing, Sketching, rearranging (our families pet store), reading articles or books, listening to motivational speakers or zoning out to some good movies. My husband and I spend a lot of spare time in the summer months at our family cottage. Between Kayaking to canoeing, boating, fishing, swimming… we are very active in the warmer months. 
 
ALM: What are your awards? What titles have you won? 
LF: I have a Graphic design & Advertising degree from an Ontario College.
I have also completed 6 Fitness Shows between the OPA, CBBF, & IFBB.

ALM: You are a trainer and an athlete, as a trainer, if someone was looking to get started, how would the contact you?

ALM: I noticed hormonal profiling and Bio-Signature Practitioner in your page, can you explain these?
LF: It is not uncommon to see results in as little as two weeks with Hormonal Profiling. I use this method on a fair bit of cliental for weight loss and performance athletes. 
This method is based on the correlation between body fat storage and possible hormonal imbalances. Hormonal imbalances are often the culprit of stubborn body fat storage and other health concerns including poor sleep, low energy, impaired cognitive function, and more. 

Unlike other methods of fat loss available today, with Hormonal Profiling you will see improvements in many other areas of your life too. Successful candidates on my custom programs have reported increased mental clarity, improved quality of sleep, higher energy levels and better moods. ALM: What would be your pet peeve or most myth-like saying for a female bodybuilder?
LF: When clients say…. "I don't want to get "too" big."   The fact is - you won't.  Nobody accidentally gets "too big". A proper nutrition, supplement and training plan designed for added lean mass or bulking is required to achieve a certain level. This is a huge myth women and men have when they start exercising / start a nutrition plan / or hire a coach.
